What is Traditional Chinese Medicine?

A whole system, not a single technique.

Traditional Chinese Medicine is a complete system of care rooted in the body’s energetic meridian system. Acupuncture is its best-known tool, but the full practice spans herbal medicine, moxibustion, gua sha, cupping, and individualized diet and lifestyle medicine.

At Dragon Qi Medicine in Creston, Dr. Lindsay Fox draws on the modality your body actually needs. Treatments emphasize gut health, stress reduction, and sustainable wellness practices you can carry into daily life.

Custom herbal formulas are prescribed individually and adjusted as your health changes, the way she trained to prescribe them in a hospital setting in Chengdu, China.

The Chinese Medicine toolkit

  • Custom herbal formulas, individualized to each patient
  • Moxibustion and gua sha
  • Acutonics: needle-free acupuncture using tuning forks
  • Electroacupuncture
  • Personalized diet and lifestyle recommendations with an emphasis on gut health
  • Nervous system support practices, qi gong, and breathwork

  • Chronic and acute pain
  • Healthy aging, longevity, and vitality
  • Fertility and women’s health

Chinese Medicine works alongside your medical care. Anything outside the scope of a Registered TCM Practitioner is referred to your physician.

Questions

Good to know.

Do I need acupuncture to benefit from Chinese Medicine?

No. Online Chinese Medicine lifestyle consultations and coaching are available entirely over Zoom, with personalized diet and lifestyle recommendations and custom herbal prescriptions. Acupuncture adds a powerful hands-on layer for patients who can visit the Creston clinic.

How do custom herbal formulas work?

After a complete health overview, Dr. Lindsay Fox prescribes a formula individualized to you and adjusts it as your health changes. Herbal formulas are an additional cost that is individual to each patient.

What is moxibustion?

Moxibustion is a warming Traditional Chinese Medicine technique used alongside acupuncture to support circulation and balance. It is one of several modalities, with gua sha and cupping, that may be woven into your treatment depending on your needs.

What is the free intro call?

A complimentary 15-minute Zoom call to ask questions about Chinese Medicine and find out whether it fits your health goals. It is an information session, so specific treatment protocols are not given out during the call.

Do you see patients outside the Creston Valley?

Yes, virtually. In-clinic care serves Creston, Erickson, Wynndel, Canyon, and Lister, while online lifestyle consultations and coaching are available anywhere over Zoom.
